4/9 Whitaker Ponds Spring Migration Bird Walk!
April 9, 2022 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am
Let’s go birding together!
Whitaker Ponds is a flat 1/2 mile loop around a pond in industrial NE Portland. It’s a great little oasis in the city that is full of ducks and other great little song birds.
Join me at the bike rack next to the parking lot. I’ll be the guy with the scope! Parking is free and it is a short walk from the 47th and Columbia Bus Stop.
If needed, I’ll provide you with binoculars, teach you how to use them, and we will explore about two miles of of flat gravel trails. I’ll teach you a few bird calls as well as point out the different species we see and hear, and answer any questions you have about bird watching and birds.
This tour is designed for beginners, but I welcome all levels of bird enthusiasts! Want to focus on birding by ear, bird photography? Let me know!
This event is rain or shine and will last about 2 hours so bring weather appropriate clothing and maybe something to snack on or drink. There is a porta-potty in the parking lot.
