4/6 Oaks Bottom Spring Bird Adventure
April 6, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 pm
Let’s go birding together!
Oaks Bottom is a fully established Wetlands in inner SE Portland. A great home to woodpeckers, ducks, sparrows, eagles and neotropical migrants on their spring journey northward. We will easily see 30+ species on our bird adventure. Trails are flat, but its quite a bit of walking with few places to sit down on our 2-3 mile 2-3 hour loop.
If needed, I’ll provide you with binoculars, teach you how to use them, and we will explore about two miles of of flat gravel trails. I’ll teach you a few bird calls as well as point out the different species we see and hear, and answer any questions you have about bird watching and birds.
This tour is designed for beginners, but I welcome all levels of bird enthusiasts! Want to focus on birding by ear, bird photography? Let me know!
Join me at the tunnel next to the Oaks Park parking lot. I’ll be the guy with the scope! Parking is free.
This event is rain or shine and will last about 2-3 hours depending on how much fun we are having. Bring weather appropriate clothing and maybe something to snack on or drink. There is no obvious porta-potty in this loop.
